Milky Way in Penang Island

I always admire those who shoot milky way photos. I’m very curious that why they can get it so easily. I have tried for quite a while until this month I manage get my first milky way shot. Then the thing like shift totally to my side. There are few things we need to take notes.

1. You need to locate the milky way. In the month of April is almost like at the tail of Scorpio, I still not sure will it changes it location when in the end of the year, still need time for me to observe.

2. You need to avoid from the light pollution in the city, even sometime you are outside the city, the light pollution can be as strong as in the city. So you need to find a place with minimum light pollution.

3. Avoid the moon. The best time is to shoot during the New moon, but in the other days, milky way still can be visible as long as the moon already set.

Light Painting

I started to find interest in light painting because of the recent outing at night. I’m addicted to night photography in the penang island, mainly is because the sky which full of stars and milkyway, secondly is easier for me to go out since most of my family members are already asleep. I do not think of rushing back and can take my sweet time to compose and observe. The most challenging part is sometime you need to do it alone in the middle of the night, and feel a bit scary and uncomfortable. Anyway these are the photos I shoot in the first 2 nights. I hope I will go into it more. Enjoy!!!

Time Lapse Project

I’m thinking to use the beautiful of Penang Island in my 1st time lapse project. The place I’m going to cover most of them are Penang nature and Landscape but it will include some cityscape as well. I’m planing a whole year project, but I’m giving myself a 3 months dateline to complete the 1st phase .This is because I’m not a full time photographer I can only use my spare time on the shooting. It will be a lot of traveling, up grade on gears and accessories and scarify of my own time. I’ve decided to outline the project here,

I will separate my project into 4 categories

Macro – I think this is the toughest part, because you cannot predict them, need a lot of waiting.
Landscape – Those scenery in Penang like beaches, waterfall, padi field.
Cityscape – Places like Georgetown, Komtar, Kek Lok Si etc.
Nature – This one need to depends on Luck, such as Rainbow, Storm, Stars etc.

If go into details, my plan is to cover around 30 different places with different time.

The Beauty of Curve

I just realise I stop blogging almost half year. So I try to blog something simple first, hope it can keeps my momentum going. I still got a lot of wedding and travel story to tell…….

As you know I was expecting my second boy in Jun, so before that I took some of pregnancy photo for my wife. Maybe this is the second one, so my wife is lack of excitement and feel tired to pose for me. I just manage to took a couple of shot and post it in my facebook. The surprise is I got respond from friend that would like to take those shot too. so here are some shots of the 3 beautiful pregnant ladies.

Logos Hope

Logos Hope was purchased in 2004. The ship’s gross tonnage is three times that of Logos II, the ship it replaces. The extra space gives visitors the opportunity to choose from a wider range of activities and will allow for more crewmembers to serve on board. Logos Hopeis OM Ships International’s largest ship.

After going through a complete renovation to transform her from a ferry into the ship she is today, Logos Hope launched into active service in February 2009.

The ship is operated on behalf of OM Ships International by GBA Ships e.V., a private, non-profit, charitable organisation registered in Germany.

So happy to get on board again after went to Doulos more than 10 years ago. I actually visited this ship more than 3 times to collect some photos as my profile. Hope you like it.

Chin Farm Waterfall in Batu Ferringhi

After staying in Penang for more than 30 years, I can’t believe that this is only my second visit to this Nan Tian Men waterfall. The first visited was 2 months ago. I decided to revisit this place in the raining season. I’m expecting strong and more water to flow from the top. My plan pay off after I got some of the photos below………
