Khoo Kongsi
by admin on May.19, 2010, under Penang
This is my second visit to this heritage site, last time was in 2007, it seems has some changes in the exhibition hall. I’m so lucky to have 2 frees entry pass, so I go along with Tommy Chai for this Khoo Kongsi shooting,
The Khoo Kongsi (邱公司) is a large Chinese clanhouse with elaborate and highly ornamented architecture, a mark of the dominant presence of the Chinese in Penang, Malaysia. The famous Khoo Kongsi is the grandest clan temple in the country. It is also one of the city’s major historic attraction. The clan temple has retained its authentic historic setting, which includes an association building, a traditional theatre and the late 19th century rowhouses for clan members, all clustered around a granite-paved square. It is located in Cannon Square in the heart of the oldest part of the city of George Town, in the midst of narrow, winding lanes and quaint-looking pre-War houses exuding a palpable old world charm. Penang Heritage

This week I got some desire to shoot Heritage building in Penang, frankly speaking my oversea photos is actually more than my penang photos. I seldom go out to shoot is because I think that it is not safe, and also I live in penang, day in day out, everything look so normal. I want to collect our penang heritage photo is because penang is under UNESCO now. People around the world purposely come to take photos in Penang, what a shame that I take it for granted. This will be a good collection for future pre-wedding shot. I can propose my customers if I personally went to that place before.

Melbourne City Tour

Finally we can spend sometime in the melbourne town ourself, today I’m not joining them except for the dinner. We took our sweet time to prepare ourself. We start from Swanston Street, along the way there are many souvenour shops, we went to buy some for our friends and family, finallly we can do some shopping. After shopping I decided to go to the Rod Laver Arena, I wish I can watch the Tennis Grand Slam atleast once in my life, now is not the time yet but atleast I see the Grand Slam stadium before.
On the way we were attracted by the art in the Hosier Lane Art, I can’t believe the spray paint can be so beautiful, we quickly took some photos for our record.

I felt that is more fun and convinient to go around by ourself if we want to take photos, we can stop where ever we want and take our own sweet time, both of us quite enjoy the time we have. We stopped by the Australia center for the moving image in the Flinder street.

There is a Pixar lamp outside the Arena which look very cute. We not forget to strike some pose in front of it.

Finally we are about to arrive in the Rod Laver Arena, is only happening during the grand slam on January, now the grand slam is in Wimbledon, so here seem a bit too quiet…… We just pose for the photos shot then go back to have lunch in the Vietnamese restaurant again.

In the late evening I only meet up with Simon’s family to the factory outlet shop, the place sell a lot of cheaper price branded goods like Nike, Adidas, Timberland etc.

At night we went to chian town to have our dinner before go to the casino, this time I’m well prepare. I manage to get some very good shots, which mean I won’t regret when I’m going back tomorrow.
