Waterfall in Botanical Garden

April 12, 2009 in Blog

Once a year the waterfall in Botanical Garden will open for the public viewing in this international water Day. Many photographers waited this once in a year chance to take photos of this amazing waterfall. The main challenge is there won't be a fixed date on the event, we need to go to PBA office or call them up to confirm the date. mostly the date will be fall on the month of April Things turn out to be a little bit different now, after with my previous experience with the waterfall in Botanical Garden, this year I went in the evening. Due to the sun direction, you may get the uneven lighting, especially blow out on the top part of the waterfall. To be able to get a decent shot, you need to have a tripod, cable release, Nd filter and CPL filter. These are the thing I normally carry with me when I'm out to shoot a waterfall.

Penang Butterfly Farm Photo competition

November 22, 2008 in Blog

I can't really sleep for the whole night because of my excitement, so I started my journey a bit early with my mum and wife. When I arrived in the butterfly farm they hinted me I got a good prize but I can't believe myself I actually got 1st prize when they announced the result. I feel fortuned and finally I got payback for the hardwork I did for the past one year. I still remember my mum always scold me when I shoot macro in my garden and even though my wife was not supportive at all. This prize mean a lot to me and it remind me this proverbs " Don't limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time. "
